Commitments:

  • Stand Up to Foster a Welcoming and Vibrant Community
    • Invest in initiatives to create affordable housing options for our seniors, young people, and families through the Affordable Housing Trust.
    • Collaborate with the Community Preservation Committee and the Trails Committee to create and foster recreational opportunities for all.
    • Invest in initiatives to create accessible spaces in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
    • Uplift the work of our Diversity, Equity, Including & Belonging Committee to educate the public and bring people together.
  • Stand Up for a More Transparent and Accessible Local Government
    • Support the work of the newly created Form of Government Study Committee to ensure that public engagement is robust, and that the recommendations the Committee makes help us enhance efficiency and transparency in our local government.
    • Collaborate with residents on ways to improve access to government, and create opportunities for engagement.
    • Advocate for a centralized voting record system for Town Meeting Members.
    • Push for an annual Town Hall-style event where residents can speak to the Select Board and Town Manager’s Office regarding their concerns, ideas, and to disseminate information. 
  • Stand Up for Our Public Schools
    • Support the project to address overcrowding at the High School so that residents can have a say through a town-wide ballot.
    • Support investments in our schools to prepare our students for the future.
    • Collaborate with our School Committee and stakeholders to deliver quality service.
    • Ensure that our schools and public safety have the resources necessary to keep our students, teachers, and families safe.
  • Stand Up for a More Sustainable Community
    • Advocate for the passage of a Tree Preservation Bylaw to encourage developers to replant displaced trees to mitigate loss of greenery.
    • Support the work of the newly created Sustainability Committee to help residents become more environmentally friendly.
    • Invest in initiatives that will support the Town’s efforts in following through with its Climate Action and Resiliency Plan.​
    • Support initiatives to expand composting, and advocate for continued education around recycling to benefit residents and save costs.
  • Stand Up to Expand Our Local Economy
    • Develop a strategy to maintain the Town’s Safe Harbor status under Chapter 40B to better direct development.
    • Support and empower the Shrewsbury Development Corporation, hire an Economic Development Coordinator, and proactively attract businesses to our community.
    • Create and promote public engagement opportunities for the Town’s updated Master Plan, and advocate for zoning changes that will enhance our community.
    • Support initiatives that will enhance multimodal transportation around Town, especially near our business plazas and the Town Center.
